I have made the difficult decision to pause the Microburst news service.
I created Microburst when I was working part-time. Recently I started a new full-time job, and I no longer have enough spare time to keep the service running.
Microburst was designed to provide Tucsonans with an easy way to stay informed on what was happening in their community. I’m proud to say that I think we accomplished that. I had aspirations of turning Microburst into a full-fledged news outlet with original reporting, and maybe I’ll get the opportunity to do that one day. But for now, I have to prioritize my work-life balance.
If you are a monthly donor, I have canceled your subscription through Stripe. If Microburst returns in the future, I will email all former subscribers to let you know.
If you’d like a recommendation for another one-stop Tucson news shop, my pick is AZPM news. They are non-profit and editorially independent, they cover most of the important local stories, and their site is ad-free.
